LETICIA MARTINEZ PEREZ
Leticia Martínez Pérez is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist, born in Zaragoza in 1984. the artist lives and works in Paris.
Leticia Martínez Pérez first trained in ceramics and in 2011 obtained the extraordinary plastic arts and design prize from the School of Applied Arts in Zaragoza. She continued her studies in Caen where in 2017 she obtained a DNSEP from the Higher School of Arts and Media of Caen with the congratulations of the jury. Leticia Martínez Pérez then went on to residencies (La Villa Calderon de Louviers in 2018, La casa Velázquez in 2019, the Cité internationale des arts in 2021…), and exhibitions.
With her sculptures, performances and installations - often integrating textiles and ceramics - the artist blurs the codes mixing references to kitsch, burlesque, art history or even popular culture. Her works are sensual, dreamlike, hybrid - a little magical, a little extravagant, a little bizarre. Director of this voluptuous and strange world, both funny and serious, Leticia Martínez Pérez often activates her pieces during performances or presents them during playful and colorful installations.
